The land mine on hermit crabs didn't slow the boys down one bit.sand dollars. I don't know if the crabs come up like this every year, but I know the sand dollar graveyard is uncommon. We came when the "Red Tide" caused all sorts of dead stuff to wash up on shore. The hermit crabs were very much alive, but eerie none the less. So all this eeriness has me wondering...will the boys take all this for granted? If the chance encounter with a long hermit crab or a coveted, perfectly round sand dollar is no longer a rare thing, will they still realize just how special those things are?
